AI visibility checker: can ChatGPT see your website?

Check whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google and Bing are allowed in, what they read on your home page, and what to fix. Scored out of 100. Free, no account.

The report Four parts and a score

What the check looks at

Thirteen checks on the files a crawler reads, weighed by how much each matters, and a fix for every one that does not pass.

  • 01

    Crawler access

Whether your robots.txt lets in the crawlers behind ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google and Bing, one by one, and which rule blocks any that are kept out.

  • 02

    What they read

Your home page as it arrives before any JavaScript runs, which is all most AI crawlers see. A site built as a JavaScript app can look empty to them.

  • 03

    Page basics

Indexing, HTTPS, page title, description, main heading, structured data, canonical link, link previews, sitemap and llms.txt, each with how to fix it.

  • 04

    How recently you published

How many articles your sitemap lists and when they last changed. Assistants quote pages that answer questions, and a site that stopped publishing slowly drops out.

Questions

What does the checker look at?

Your robots.txt, your home page as it arrives before any JavaScript runs, your sitemap and your llms.txt: the same files a crawler reads. It needs no login and installs nothing.

How is the score worked out?

Thirteen checks, each weighed by how much it matters: whether crawlers can read your site at all counts three times a page nicety such as a link preview. A pass earns the full weight, a warning half and a failure none, and the score is the share earned, out of 100. A failed high-impact check caps the score at 59. Grades run from A (90 and over) to F (under 40).

Why would my site block AI crawlers?

Often by accident. Some site builders, security plugins and hosting firewalls block AI crawlers by default, and a robots.txt copied from somewhere else can carry rules nobody remembers adding.

Should I block AI training crawlers?

That is your call. Blocking GPTBot or ClaudeBot keeps your pages out of training data. It does not stop ChatGPT or Claude finding your pages when they search, which they do with separate crawlers. The report shows the two kinds apart, and training crawlers never count toward the score.

Can the checker see firewall blocks?

Only partly. A firewall such as Cloudflare can turn AI crawlers away before they read robots.txt. If it turns us away too, the report says so; if it lets us in but blocks AI crawlers by name, the checker cannot tell. Your firewall’s bot settings can.

If every check passes, will AI assistants recommend me?

Not on its own. These checks make sure assistants can read your site. Whether they quote it depends on whether your pages answer the questions people ask, and on how many other sites point to you.

Is it really free?

Yes, with no account. Check your own site and your competitors’. Each report has its own link you can share or print.
